Easter Sunrise Service

Our Pottsboro Ministerial Alliance is planning a Community-wide Easter Sunrise service on Easter Sunday March 23, 2008 at the Prothro Center (Methodist Camp). This year, the service will begin at 7:00 a.m. As the large crowd gathers, the day will be dawning and the sunrise is anticipated at about 7:25 and we will finish around 7:45. In case of weather that is uncooperative, the service will be held in the Lakeview Room--in the main dining hall building at the Prothro Center.

All are invited to bring coats and blankets, good flashlights, and light lawn chairs. The service will consist of Singing, Scripture, and Sacrament. We will share the Sacrament of Holy Communion together, celebrating Jesus Christ’s risen spiritual presence among us and his calling to become the body of Christ in ministry to one another and to our part of our world.

Everyone who plays music is invited to bring your instrument and join in. Music will be led by Lakeway’s Praise Team (unplugged!) Bring your acoustic instruments—guitar or other stringed or wind or percussion instrument. Easy Chord Books in concert key will be provided. You might want to bring a good flashlight and someone to hold it as you play. Music will consist of familiar hymns and songs--the songs of the garden and the songs of the resurrection.

Almost everyone is open to going to church on Easter Sunday. This service will be a great opportunity to invite people in our community to worship together!

Take a step toward Christian faith and get involved with one of the families of faith in our community!

Sunday evening, November 18, 2007 our Community-Wide Thanksgiving service, sponsored by the Pottsboro Ministerial Alliance was held at 6:00 p.m. at Hagerman Baptist Church, in Pottsboro, 4619 Refuge Road at Terry. Rev Carl Bilderback, former pastor of First Baptist Pottsboro was preacher.

Desserts and finger food snacks were offered for fellowship after the service.

Seven local churches in the Pottsboro area of Lake Texoma cooperate in an ecumenical partnership for ministry and fellowship. We all share concern for the spiritual health of our community and we join in prayer to lift up the families, children, teachers, young couples, singles, elders, and also the visitors of our area.
