Lakeway is a growing, active, young church with many areas to serve.
We have a place for you! Have you ever wanted to share your gifts with
people and maybe receive something in return? Join hands with the people
of the United Methodist Church. Right here in Pottsboro!
We share ministries which we believe our Lord Jesus Christ has
called us toward. Here are just a few examples:
 |
Backpacks filled with the prescribed
school supplies. Fifty children were served in August 2005, each one with
a prayer for peace and love in their lives as well as a great school year.
|
 |
Annual winter coat drive. Some
two hundred received a coat or a jacket in November 2004. We are gearing
up now for this fall/winter (2005)
|
 |
We support the Air Chapel Ministry
through giving financially and through many volunteer hours.
|
 |
We operate the Lakeway Christian
Community Resale Barn which is having a banner year since we built and moved
into our own 9600 square foot building. In the store we resell all kinds
of donated items. All proceeds go to our neighbors in need through our
Samaritan Program. All accounting is done seperately from church funds and
the church does not receive funds from the Resale Barn. Many volunteers
are needed to continue this program!
|
 |
Angel Tree. Gifts are bought,
wrapped, and given to community children who have a parent in jail or prison.
The children participate in the Annual Children's Christmas Party for stories,
songs, the Christmas story, and a visit with Santa Claus
|
 |
Pastoral Care, Counseling, Marriage
Counseling and Weddings, Memorial Services, Youth Fellowship and Trips, Choir
and Praise Team, and...
|
 |
We are serious about youth and
children's ministries. Our Youth participated in three mission trips
during 2005 and we have just begun a puppet ministry to help our yout ahd older
children express their faith.

Many, Many others!
