Looking Ahead to All Saints Sunday – November 2, 2025

Good Folks, It’s Monday, October 20, 2025. No countdowns yet to Thanksgiving or Christmas—though both are on the horizon. On Sunday, November 2, 2025—All Saints Sunday—during our morning worship, we will pause to remember those who have gone before us into the Church Triumphant. The following names will be read with love and reverence: Larry Fridley,  Martha Fridley, Ken Pratt, Bob Alexander.

We are the Church today because of those who came before us. These faithful saints—whose lives we celebrated, whose loss we mourned, and whose faith we proclaim—remind us that each life is a testimony to God’s grace. Some lived long and full lives; others’ journeys were shorter. But all left a legacy—in us.

On All Saints Sunday, their names will be read, a bell will sound, tears may fall, and smiles will rise as we recall moments of joy and gratitude. We give thanks to God for these who “have fought the good fight, finished the race, and kept the faith” (2 Timothy 4:7).

Every Sunday, we gather to hear a Word from God for the people of God. The Apostles’ Creed ends with these powerful words: “I believe in…the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen.” It is this truth we proclaim, this hope we hold, and this promise in which we live—secured through Jesus Christ, our Lord. So, hold on to hope. Have faith. Remain steadfast in what we are called to do: to make disciples, spread the gospel, love one another, forgive freely, and bear witness to the grace of God for all.

Christ had no “Plan B.” We are it. The Church—you and I—are the ones Christ is counting on. Have a great and blessed day. See you Sunday in church.

Blessings from Pottsboro, Pastor Frank (alegria@lakewayumc.org)
